Men’s Lacrosse Jumps to Early Lead and Cruises past Salve Regina

Conor Healey scored four goals including two in the first 10 minutes of action as the St. Lawrence University Men's Lacrosse team, ranked #14 in the latest USILA/Nike National Poll, jumped out to a 7-0 lead and went on to post a 15-4 victory over Salve Regina Tuesday afternoon at the University of Tampa.

Healey, Andrew Jarrett, Steven Peterson, Jordan Dow and Charlie Duprey each scored goals in the first 17 minutes of action as the Saints (6-0) controlled the early portion of the game.

Salve Regina (7-3) played even with the Saints in the second quarter with each team scoring twice and the Saints took an 8-2 lead into the halftime intermission.

Healey scored two of the first three goals of the third quarter as St. Lawrence forged ahead 11-3 after three quarters of play. Jamie DeNicola added the other Saints goal in the third quarter and added two additional goals in the fourth as St. Lawrence outscored Salve Regina 4-1 down the stretch.

Healey led the Saints with four goals and an assist for five points while DeNicola scored three goals for the Saints. Eight additional players had single goals for the balanced attack. Jordan Dow had a goal and two assists. Jack Roberts and Alec Dietsch led the defensive effort as Roberts had three ground balls and two caused turnovers Dietsch added two ground balls and caused three turnovers.

Ryan Fisher played the first 49 minutes and made seven saves while Matty Corbelle and Patrick Sullivan combined to make three saves in the final 11 minutes. Fisher earned the win in goal to improve to 6-0.

The Saints had a 46-29 advantage in shots and forced 29 turnovers.
