"It was fun getting to watch our team compete with poise and maturity," Head Coach
Greg Kreitzer said. "Our upperclassmen showed the type of mental toughness that comes with years of college match play. It was also great to see our freshman earn their first collegiate wins."
Among the team's upperclassmen representatives were seniors Vandenbeemt and Arroyo who both competed in the A flight of the tournament. Arroyo downed William Smith's Katarina Kostovic (8-4), Geneseo's Amanda Rosati (8-2) and Rochester's Christine Ho (8-6) before advancing to the final to face off against Vandenbeemt.
The Saints captain, who drew a bye in the first round, edged Geneseo's Cat Crummey (8-5) and Marylen Santos (8-4) before facing off against Arroyo in the final and posting an 8-3 win.
