Seniors Kelly Legg (left) and Cassie St. Hilaire celebrated their "Senior Day" on Saturday against Bard.
Box Score Feb. 22: St. Lawrence University senior women's basketball players Kelly Legg and Cassie St. Hilaire played their final regular season game of their collegiate careers on Saturday, as the Saints defeated Bard 70-50 in the Burkman Gymnasium on "Senior Day."  Legg finished with a game-high 19 points, as the senior duo improved to 30-1 at home in conference regular season play during their four-year careers.

St. Lawrence (18-7, 14-2) controlled the game from the outset, and will gear up for Wednesday's Liberty League semifinal showdown with RIT in Canton, NY.  Meanwhile, Bard finishes the year at 1-24 (0-16), but was led by a 20-point outing from Bianka Bell on Saturday.

"It was nice to find ourselves in a game that everyone was able to contribute and to send our seniors off on a high note having won the championship this weekend," said St. Lawrence head coach Dan Roiger.

Legg and St. Hilaire won either the conference's regular season or tournament title each of their four years at St. Lawrence.  Legg's 11 points in the first half paved the way for a 36-19 advantage as she owned the interior against the Raptors.  Depsite a 1-for-9 mark from behind the arc in the first half, the Saints held the comfortable lead thanks to a 23-11 rebounding advantage and shot 47% from the floor.

St. Lawrence's lead would swell to as many as 27 in the second half, as junior Kara McDuffee had another outstanding game with 17 points and a game-high 13 rebounds.  Rookie Ellie Gonyeau was also sharp, turning in career-highs with eight points, 10 rebounds and two blocks off the bench.

Bard's Tytravia Riley joined Bell in double-figures with 12 points while also chipping in a team-high six rebounds and six steals.  However, the visitors managed only 31% shooting from the field, allowing St. Lawrence to coast to the 20-point win.

Legg now owns the University's career blocks (236) and field goals made (537) records, along with blocks in a season with her 69th on Saturday.  St. Hilaire struggled from the floor but did add two boards, two assists and a steal in the win.

St. Lawrence will host RIT at 7:00pm on Wednesday, with the winner advancing to the 2014 Liberty League title game on Saturday.  Vassar hosts William Smith in the other semifinal.
