The St. Lawrence University women's soccer team and second-year head coach Dima Kaliakin will return to play this week as the Scarlet and Brown take to the road for a pair of matchups. The Saints will open the 2026 season on Tuesday, September 1 at 4 p.m. against SUNY Cortland, then will head to Rochester, N.Y. on the weekend to take on Nazareth in a 2 p.m. fixture.

"Our staff has been really impressed with the work and commitment to detail our group has shown throughout the preseason." Said Kaliakin. "We have enjoyed watching the team grow together while pushing each other with intensity and purpose. We are very excited to get the season started with games that will test us and prepare us for league play."

Coaching alongside Kaliakin in her second season with the squad is Assistant Coach Simone Neivel.

Last season, the Saints finished 8-7-3 overall and had a 4-5 record in Liberty League play. St. Lawrence fell just short of the playoffs after dropping three of their last four, but will be looking to return to the playoff picture in 2026.

St. Lawrence returns four of its top six point producers from the 2025 team, including All-Liberty League back Chloe Bourque. The senior captain was a stalwart on the back line for the Saints last season and led the team with five assists en route to the All-League Third Team.

Along with Bourque, the Scarlet and Brown return Zoe Rogan, Barrett Freeman, and Kiki D'Anza, who were in the top-six scorers last season. Rogan had four goals and eight points in 2025, while Freeman found the back of the net three times. D'Anza had two goals to her name last year and had an assist for five points.

Rounding out the senior class with Bourque, Freeman, Rogan and D'Anza are Zoe Davenport, Grace Gibson, Sydney Keenan, and Sofia Manne, who will all be important factors on this year's squad.

Davenport brings 17 games of experience in the woodwork and started 15 games for the Scarlet and Brown as a junior. In 15 games, she posted a 7-6-2 record with four solo clean sheets and a pair of combined shutouts, with a 1.48 goals against and a .737 save percentage.

St. Lawrence will also look to their junior class for leadership this season, which will consist of Reagan Murphy, Gwyn McGee, Paige McLaughlin, and Brooke Habinowski. Playing in their second seasons for the Saints are sophomores Valentina Moretti, Ella McPhaul, Aver Asom, Maddie Needham, and Lily Murphy, who will be looking to expand their roles in the lineup.

Kaliakin and the Saints welcome seven first-years to the team in 2026 with the Class of 20230 consisting of Eilee Brutsch, Kelsey Ackerman, Sidney Reno, Paige Murphy, Madeline Johnson, Avery Moulton, and Charlotte Manganello.

Following this week's road fixtures, St. Lawrence will return for a pair of home games next week against SUNY Potsdam and Plattsburgh State. A weekday trip to Oneonta, N.Y. the week after for a match against Hartwick will give way to a home weekend against Oswego State before their penultimate non-conference game on Wednesday, September 23 against SUNY Canton at Sandy MacAllaster Field.

Liberty League play will open on Saturday, September 26 at Skidmore, then the team will head to Clinton, N.Y. for their final non-conference match against Hamilton. Down the stretch run, the team will play home games against Bard, RIT, Ithaca, and Union on senior day, and will have road fixtures against Vassar, Clarkson, William Smith, and RPI.
