The St. Lawrence University women's soccer team finished the season 8-7-3 overall and 4-5 in the Liberty League in its first season under head coach
Dima Kaliakin. The team finished the season above .500 for the second straight year after not reaching the mark since 2021.
After a slow start to the season, in which the Saints tied SUNY Potsdam 0-0 and lost to Hartford 1-0 in the North Country Classic, the team earned a good result, tying No. 24 Rochester 0-0 in a road matchup.
The Scarlet and Brown went on to win three straight, defeating Nazareth (2-1), Oswego (2-1), and SUNY Canton (7-0). St. Lawrence fell to Cortland and beat Plattsburgh before heading into Liberty League action.
St. Lawrence fell to Skidmore, but won their next two conference matchups, beating Bard (4-0), and Clarkson (2-0). The team went on to alternate results after that, falling to No. 19 Vassar and No. 22 William Smith, while beating RIT and RPI. The Saints would fall in their final two games against Ithaca and Union to miss out on the playoffs.
The team was led by
Meredith Donahue, who led the team with six goals and 14 points offensively. She also provided two assists offensively from her post.
Madison King-Thurber was also a lynch pin in the starting 11, scoring three goals and tallying six points in the midfield. The team's leading playmaker was
Chloe Bourque, who had a team-high five assists from the back.
Coming off the bench for the Saints were
Zoe Rogan, who was second on the team with four goals, and
Barrett Freeman, who had three goals.
Zoe Davenport started 15 games for the Saints in the woodwork and had a 7-6-2 record with four clean sheets and two combined shutouts. The junior had a 1.48 goals against average and a .737 save percentage.
Reagan Murphy got into six games with three starts and had a 1-1-1 record to go along with a shutout and two combined clean sheets. In limited action, she posted a .67 goals against and a .870 save percentage.
For her efforts in the midfield, King-Thurber was named to the All-Region Third-Team by the United Soccer Coaches. Along with being on the All-Region squad, she was named to the All-Liberty League Second-Team alongside Donahue. Along with those two, Bourque was named to the Third-Team for St. Lawrence.
In the classroom, the team saw five players named to the CSC Academic All-District team. King-Thurber, Donahue, Bourque, Davenport, and
Kylie Burnett earned the honors for the Saints.
