The Skating Saints Welcome Three Transfers, Five First-Years Ahead of 2026-27

The St. Lawrence University men's hockey program will welcome eight new players to the team ahead of the Skating Saints' 2026-27 season, as announced by Charles W. Appleton II Head Men's Hockey Coach Brent Brekke.

Forwards James Fisher and Jake Rozzi, along with defender William Bishop, will join the Saints as transfers, while five first-year student-athletes will be donning the Scarlet and Brown to begin their collegiate careers.

Among the newcomers, the Saints welcome five forwards and three on the blueline.

James Fisher (Junior)
Number: 18 | Forward | Burlington, Mass. | Northeastern University (NCAA) | Height: 6'2" Weight: 195 | Shot: Right | Draft Rights: Columbus Blue Jackets, 2022 Round 7 Pick 203

Brekke on Fisher: "James is a veteran of college hockey, having played two years at Northeastern. He has good size, a good stick, and has been a reliable two-way forward.  He has proven that he can score at the junior level, and we are excited to see what he can do in our lineup."
  • A native of Burlington, Massachusetts, Fisher played his prep school hockey at Belmont Hill, where he earned All-League honors while serving as a key contributor up front.
  • Standing at 6-2, the right-shot winger began his junior career in the USHL with the Youngstown Phantoms before finishing his career in the BCHL with the Penticton Vees. Fisher played in 42 games for Youngstown, had 10 points on three goals and seven assists, and helped them win a Clark Cup Championship.
  • The forward played in 54 games with the Vees during the 2023-24 season, scoring 20 goals and adding 16 assists. Fisher was selected in the seventh round (203rd overall) of the 2022 NHL Draft by the Columbus Blue Jackets.
  • Fisher continued his career at Northeastern University, where he appeared in 60 games over two seasons, tallying three goals and two assists.

Jake Rozzi (Junior)

Brekke on Rozzi: "Jake is a talented forward with good offensive instincts and hockey sense. He sees the ice well and can find players in tight areas. He'll find quiet space in the offensive zone for quality scoring chances."
  • A native of Kirkland, Québec, Rozzi began his junior career in 2020-21 with the Waterloo Black Hawks of the USHL.
  • The 6-0 left-shot forward transfer comes to Canton from Ohio State University, where he played for two seasons.
  • After skating in six games for Waterloo, with a goal and an assist, he played a full season with the Black Hawks the next year, notching a 4-13-17 line in 55 regular-season games before moving to the Youngstown Phantoms in 2022-23, where he helped the team with the Clark Cup.
  • After skating with the Madison Capitals and the Tri-City Storm in his final season, Rozzi joined the Buckeyes, where he played in 43 games in two seasons, scoring six goals and tallying nine assists for 15 points.

William Bishop (Sophomore)

Brekke on Bishop: "William is an experienced college defenseman. He plays a very well-rounded game and possesses a strong skill set. He will be a great addition to our group of defensemen."
  • A native of Baie d'Urfe, Quebec, Bishop played his high school hockey at Kuper Academy and St. Thomas High School.
  • Standing at 6-0, the left-shot defenseman began his junior career in the CCHL with the Cornwall Colts. Bishop made the jump to the QMJHL in 2021-22, skating with the Sherbrooke Phoenix. After 85 games, two goals, and 12 assists, the defender finished off 2022-23 and began 2023-24 with the Acadie-Bathurst Titan, where he played in 47 games, with one goal and four assists.
  • Bishop finished his junior career with the Val-d'Or Foreurs, where in his final season he posted eight goals, 35 assists, and 43 points in 64 games. Last season, Bishop was up Route 11 at Clarkson University, where he had one goal and four assists in 31 games.
  • The transfer was a rare one as he is the first player since Brad James '90 to turn in his Green and Gold for Scarlet and Brown.

Will Bishop
Number: 2 | Defense | London, Ontario | Kingston Frontenacs (OHL) | Height: 6'6" Weight: 215 | Shot: Right

Brekke on Bishop: "Will is a towering defenseman at 6'6". He covers a lot of ice with his mobility and reach. He gaps well and does not allow the opposition much time or space. He moves pucks efficiently and effectively.
  • A native of London, Ontario, Bishop played his prep school hockey at Ridley College before breaking into junior hockey with the Sudbury Wolves in 2021-22.
  • Standing at 6-6, the right-shot defenseman played in 34 games with the Wolves in 2021-22 and 2022-23 and, after a short stint in the NOJHL, joined the Saginaw Spirit of the OHL for the 2023-24 season, where he had four goals and six assists in 66 games, won the OHL West Division, and helped the team win the Memorial Cup.
  • After 34 more games with the Spirit in 2024-25, the defender moved on to the OHL's Kingston Frontenacs, where he was an assistant captain this past season.
  • Bishop's career in Kingston included 95 games where he scored a goal, had 15 assists, and took part in 15 playoff games.

Ihnat Pazii
Number: 11 | Forward | Kharkiv, Ukraine | Flint Firebirds (OHL) | Height: 5'10" Weight: 175 | Shot: Left

Brekke on Pazii: "Iggy is an undersized player who goes to the hard areas very well. He possesses good speed to go along with a strong skill set and hockey sense. He can play up and down the line-up and is very versatile."
  • A native of Kharkiv, Ukraine, Pazii developed his game in the Ontario Hockey League with the North Bay Battalion and Flint Firebirds, where he was a key contributor up front and was named the Rookie of the Year for the Battalion in 2023-24.
  • Standing at 5-10, the left-shot forward split this past season between North Bay and the Flint Firebirds, skating in 68 total games, recording 16 goals and 20 assists.
  • In 2023-24, he played three games with the Ukraine U20 team and had two assists.
  • Pazii has 169 games under his belt in the OHL and put up 35 goals and 45 assists for 80 points between the Battalion and Firebirds.

Owen Tylec
Number: 20 | Forward | Wheatfield, N.Y. | Des Moines Buccaneers (USHL) | Height: 5'11" Weight: 179 | Shot: Left

Brekke on Tylec: "Owen is coming off a strong season, as one of the top scorers for the Des Moines Buccaneers. He is a cerebral player with an excellent hockey mind."
  • A native of Wheatfield, New York, Tylec played his prep school hockey at Nichols School, where he was a key contributor down the middle.
  • Standing at 5-11, the left-shot center spent time in juniors skating with the USHL's Chicago Steel for parts of three seasons, where he played in 116 games and had ten goals and 26 assists for 36 points.
  • Tylec joined the Des Moines Buccaneers in the USHL this past season, playing in 62 games with the Buccaneers, scoring 20 goals and adding 25 assists for 45 points. 

Luke Posthumus
Number: 24 | Forward | Ottawa, Ontario | Oshawa Generals (OHL) | Height: 6'0" Weight: 187 | Shot: Right

Brekke on Posthumus: "Luke is a heady player and thinks the game at a high level. His offensive instincts are outstanding. We expect Luke to have an immediate impact as a first-year player."
  • A native of Ottawa, Ontario, Posthumus played prep school hockey at Peak Academy, where he also participated in a variety of sports and was on the school's honor roll.
  • Standing at 6-0, the right-shot forward began his junior hockey career with the Nepean Raiders of the CCHL, where he was named the CCHL Rookie of the Year, along with Academic Player of the Year honors.
  • He played 60 games for the Raiders, scoring 20 goals and assisting on 29 for 49 points. Posthumus moved on to the Tri-City Storm of the USHL in 2023-24, where he had three goals and ten assists in 38 games, then had 46 points on 25 goals and 21 assists in 2024-25 with the Penticton Vees.
  • The forward was in the OHL as a member of the Oshawa Generals this past season, skating in 67 games, scoring 23 goals and adding 34 assists for 57 points.

Max Dirracolo
Number: 25 | Defense | Barrie, Ontario | Kitchener Rangers (OHL) | Height: 6'4" Weight: 220 | Shot: Left

Brekke on Dirracolo: "Max is a rugged, tough defender with good size at 6'4. He is physical and very hard to play against. He is coming off a terrific season, as he helped his team (Kitchener Rangers) win the Memorial Cup. The experience he gained from a championship season will be very valuable."
  • A native of Barrie, Ontario, Dirracolo played his high school hockey at St. Peter's Catholic Secondary School, where he served as an assistant captain, was on the honor roll, and was named team MVP.
  • Standing at 6-4, the left-shot defenseman began his junior career during the 2023-24 season in the OJHL, where he played in 29 games with the Toronto Patriots, tallying ten assists... Dirracolo finished the campaign in the OHL with the Kitchener Rangers, playing in 31 games with a goal and four assists, and played in ten playoff games.
  • The defender played the last two seasons with the Rangers, accumulating 141 games played, five goals, and 15 assists for 20 points.
  • Dirracolo played in eight playoff games this past season as the team won the 2026 Memorial Cup.
