The St. Lawrence University women's track and field team turned in a well-rounded performance at the Middlebury Invitational, capturing two event wins while adding multiple top-three finishes across the meet.
Madison Beaudoin led the Saints on the track with a first-place finish in the 800-meter run, clocking a time of 2:17.29. She later teamed with
Margaret McNally,
Samantha Legate, and
Amelia Berthold to win the 4x400-meter relay in 4:11.04. St. Lawrence also got a win from
Ella Baker, who continued her torrid start to her collegiate career with a win in the 200-meter dash in 26.22.
Several Saints added runner-up performances, including
Amelia Berthold, who finished second in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:07.62. In the field,
Kaitlyn Putman recorded a second-place finish in the discus throw with a mark of 36.67 meters. The 4x100-meter relay team of
Isla Bougard Duncan, McNally, Legate, and Baker also took second, crossing in 50.53.
Cecelia Ballard highlighted the team's third-place finishes with a clearance of 1.52 meters in the high jump, while Berthold added a fourth-place finish in the same event at 1.47 meters. Putman contributed across multiple throws, placing fourth in the shot put at 10.32 meters and fourth in the javelin at 28.48 meters, while
Lola Buckley was sixth in the shot put at 9.85 meters.
Elle Waite added a fifth-place finish in the javelin with a throw of 27.49 meters.
On the track,
Maya Dixon placed fourth in the 100-meter hurdles in 17.44, and Berthold earned a fifth-place finish in the long jump with a mark of 4.82 meters. Legate added a sixth-place finish in the 400-meter dash in 1:01.62.
In the sprints,
Hannah Garrepy recorded a personal-best time of 13.42 to place sixth in the 100-meter dash, while Bougard Duncan followed in seventh at 13.58. In the throws,
Rosemary Fleischmann finished sixth in the hammer throw with a mark of 34.80 meters, and Putman added a seventh-place, personal-record throw of 32.18 meters.
The Saints will look to continue building momentum as the outdoor season progresses.
