The St. Lawrence University men's rowing Varsity 8 placed first in the petit final, as the Saints competed at the New York State Championships on Saturday in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.

The Varsity 8 recorded a fourth-place finish in their first heat, finishing with a time of 6:5.183.

In the petit final, SLU claimed the first-place spot with a time of 7:43.000, finishing ahead of Rochester, Manhattan and Binghamton.

The Saints will be back on the water next weekend, as they travel to RIT on Sunday, April 26.
