Sophomore defender
Drew Knight recorded a career day with 12 ground balls and five caused turnovers, as No. 10 Dickinson defeated the No. 14 St. Lawrence University men's lacrosse team 19-6 on Friday afternoon at the Callum Robinson Mustang Classic hosted by Stevenson in Owing Mills, Md.
Knight's 12 ground balls and five caused turnovers were both a career best in each category and led the defense.
Nathan Coghlin scored a pair of goals, while
Henry Crean tallied a goal, an assist and picked up three ground balls.
Daniel Mahoney,
Ted Wilson, and
Jensen Kohler also scored for the Saints.
William Abplanalp went 10-for-16 from the faceoff dot and picked up three ground balls.
Dickinson got off to a hot start, scoring the first three goals of the first quarter. Coghlin stopped the Red Devils' run to put the Saints on the board, making it 3-1, at 7:51. The Red Devils added two more goals in the first to take a 5-1 lead after the first 15 minutes.
The Red Devils scored the first three again to start the second and went on a four-goal run to take an 8-1 lead before Kohler found the back of the net with his first collegiate goal for the Saints to make it 8-2.
Dickinson ended the first half with a 9-2 lead.
Mahoney opened the scoring for the Saints in the third quarter, but the Red Devils outscored SLU 5-2 in the third and led 14-4 heading into the final quarter.
Dickinson opened the fourth with a pair of goals, but Crean and Wilson were able to find the back of the net, scoring their eighth and fourth goals of the season, respectively. The Red Devils held another 5-2 advantage in the quarter to finish off with the 19-6 win.

Ramsey Huggins led the Red Devils with four goals and an assist, while Landen Hyatt scored three and added three helpers.
Raffery Callahan,
Heath Mann and
George Persinger all shared time in goal for the Saints and combined for 11 saves, while Rocco Bognet finished with six saves for Dickinson.
SLU finished with a 38-36 edge in ground balls and a 16-13 advantage in faceoffs, while Dickinson outshot the Saints 37-29.
The Saints fell to 3-2 on the season, while Dickinson improved to 5-1.
St. Lawrence is scheduled to play host No. 26 Stevenson in tomorrow's headliner game at 8 p.m.
