The Saints won two of three matches on the Dordelman Championship Court, but the St. Lawrence University men's squash team ultimately suffered a 5-4 loss against Hamilton on Sunday at the Robie Squash Center.
St. Lawrence fell to 3-9 on the season, while Hamilton improved to 8-8. Â
The Saints got off to a strong start, winning two of three on the Dordelman Championship Court. At one,
Mina Wasseem took on Jacob Shulman and secured an 11-7, 11-7, 11-8 win. Then, in the second match on the court,
Emirhan Sen was tasked with Tobey Suratt at three and won 11-6, 11-8, 11-5.
Down in the order,
Harrison Callaway played at six against Lucas Walden and went down 2-1 before winning the final two games 11-9, 13-11. Despite the win, the Saints went down 4-3, making the remaining matches key.
The Continentals secured the winning match at number eight to take the team victory.
In the final match of the day,
Alexander Scott took the court with Jacob Li at number five and won his match 11-9, 11-9, 14-12.
St. Lawrence will be back on the court next weekend when it hosts the Liberty League Tournament at the Robie Squash Center. The Liberty League Tournament will start on Saturday, February 14.
