The bottom of the ladder came up big for the Saints as the St. Lawrence University women's squash team defeated Dickinson 6-3 on Friday afternoon in Carlisle, Pa.
St. Lawrence improved to 7-4 overall, while the Devils fell to 3-7.
At three,
Mariam Dodd took on Thea Hegde and cruised to an 11-4, 11-4, 11-7 win, while at four her teammate
Madeleine Martin went down 1-0 to Victoria Savelius before winning the next three 11-9, 11-9, 12-10 to take the match.
The bottom half of the order was key in the Saints' win as they took 3-0 wins at six, seven, eight, and nine.
At six,
Khissaiyia Spencer was tasked with Grace Miller and made quick work in the 11-2, 11-1, 11-2 win.
Katherine Callaway occupied the seventh spot and had similar success defeating Lila Brown 11-3, 11-1, 11-3.
Ksenia Merkulova played at eight against Lauren Flowers and secured an 11-2, 11-1, 11-4 victory.
At nine,
Emma Kahle took home a win by default to finalize the 6-3 win.
St. Lawrence will be back on court on Sunday, February 8, when the team hosts Hamilton at the Robie Squash Center at 1 p.m.
