The Saints all but one match on the day as the St. Lawrence University women's squash team defeated Bates 8-1 to advance to the Finals of the Walker Cup bracket on Day Two of the CSA Team Nationals in Philadelphia, Pa.
St. Lawrence improved to 14-5, while Bates fell to 5-10.
At one,
Angel Otshabeng cruised to an 11-6, 11-7, 11-5 win over Aasya Patel, while
Eboni Atherley had a little more trouble at two, going to a fifth game against Tia Billimoria. Atherley pulled through in the final game, 11-6 for the win.
After falling at three, the Scarlet and Brown swept the rest of the ladder.
Madeleine Martin occupied the fourth spot against Savannah Thomson and won 10-12, 11-4, 11-5, 11-5, while her classmate
Laura Franz won 11-7, 11-2, 11-9 against Angelina Amastal.
Khissaiyia Spencer lines up against Neha Taneja at six and after losing the first game, won the next three 11-7, 11-9, 11-3 for the match.
At seven,
Katherine Callaway swept Maeve Mufson, winning 11-3, 11-3, 11-4, while
Ksenia Merkulova also swept her matchup 11-2, 11-2, 11-1 at eight against Andrea Perez.
Emma Kahle earned a default win at nine for the 8-1 win.
St. Lawrence will take on Franklin & Marshall tomorrow at 9 a.m. in the Walker Cup final.
