First-year forward
Sam LeDrew helped lead the St. Lawrence University men's hockey team to a sweep of Brown and Yale over the weekend and was named ECAC Hockey's Rookie of the Week for his efforts, as announced by the league office on Monday morning.
On Friday, the newcomer scored the would-be game-winning goal at the 13:19 mark of the third period and added an assist on the Saints' third goal to help put it on ice. On Saturday against Yale, he got the party started, giving the Scarlet and Brown the 1-0 lead with a power play tally. He once again had an assist on the Saints' final goal to make it a 5-2 final and give him his fourth point of the weekend.
LeDrew and the Skating Saints will be back on the ice this weekend when they head to central New York for a pair of contests against Cornell and Colgate, which will serve as the final two games of the regular season.
