The Saints were perfect on the day with nine wins, as the St. Lawrence University men's squash team swept their Liberty League foe Hobart 9-0 on Saturday afternoon at the Robie Squash Center.
St. Lawrence improved to 6-10 with the win, while Hobart fell to 1-18.
The Saints got wins early and often as
Dmitry Stepanenko and
Milo Stephenson picked up wins at six and seven.
Stepanenko took on Mason Graham and won 11-4, 11-4, 11-6, while Stephenson won 11-4, 11-2, 11-7 against Miles Mackey.
St. Lawrence had similar results elsewhere in the order as
Harrison Callaway,
Suhaan Shareef, and
Andrey Bakulev each had 3-0 results at four, eight, and nine, to take the 5-0 lead. Callaway defeated Peter Vorbach 11-6, 11-9, 11-3 at four, while Shareef beat Jayden Saldana at eight. Bakulev was at nine where he faced Billy Gantcher and won 11-1, 11-6, 11-2.
In the two spot,
Miguel Posada Villa had a tight match against Adam Le and won the first and fourth games to force a fifth game. Posada Villa came through with an 11-5 win to take the match and put the Saints up 6-0.
At three,
Emirhan Sen kept things going against Javier De La Vega, winning 11-4, 11-8, 11-6.
The final matches of the day came in the number one and five spots, where
Mina Wasseem and
Athrva Yadav were playing. Yadav took on Gabriel Garcia and won the first two games before falling in the third. He cleaned things up with an 11-7 win to take the victory. Wasseem and Caio Pavia were the last match of the day, and Wasseem capped off the sweep with an 11-5, 11-7, 11-8 win.
St. Lawrence will be back on the court tomorrow at noon when they host Bates in their final match of the regular season. The Squash programs will celebrate the Class of 2026 for Senior Day, starting at 11:15 a.m.
