The Saints went out to a 3-2 lead through five matches, but a bounce-back from the visitors sent the St. Lawrence University men's squash team to a 5-4 loss in the Liberty League Championship match on Sunday at the Robie Squash Center and Dordelman Championship Court.
St. Lawrence fell to 5-10 with the result.
For his efforts on the weekend,
Mina Wasseem was named the Tournament's Most Oustanding Player. He's the third straight Saint to win the award after
Lewis Anderson and Gregory Malsang were honored with the award the last two seasons.Â

The Saints took a very early lead in the match, going up 1-0.
Dmitry Stepanenko authored the lead, defeating Sam Knoll handily, 11-2, 11-0, 11-8 to go up one.
After Rochester tied up the match at 1-1, Wasseem regained the lead at number one. In his matchup with Gilberto Noe Aceves Moreno, he went down 1-0 before storming all the way back with 11-7, 14-12, 16-14 wins to take the match and send the Dordelman Court into pandemonium.
Another Yellowjacket win made it 2-2, but the match went to 3-2 thanks to
Patrick Walford, who defeated Kareem Azzam 6-11, 11-6, 13-11, 11-7.
A pair of Rochester wins gave them the 4-3 lead, putting the match on the brink. On the Glass court,
Miguel Posada Villa took on Dhirren Rajarathinam and, after going down 2-0, stormed back with an 11-7 win. Rochester would secure the win, however, as Rajarathinam won the fourth game 11-6.
In the final match of the day,
Emirhan Sen lined up against Thomas Valderrama and after winning the first game 11-8, dropped the next three 11-9, 11-7, 11-6 to make it a 6-3 final.
The Scarlet and Brown will be back at the Robie Squash Center and Dordelman Championship Court next weekend when the team hosts Hobart and Bates in their final two matches before Team Nationals.
