The Saints battled hard at the top of the ladder, but the St. Lawrence University men's squash team fell 9-0 to Amherst on Sunday in Amherst, Massachusetts.
St. Lawrence fell to 3-7 overall, while Amherst improved to 10-3.
The Scarlet and Brown battled hard in the top five of the order, with three matches going to five games and two more to four.
Mina Wasseem,
Miguel Posada Villa, and
Patrick Walford, who occupied the one, two, and four spots, all battled to 3-2 results; but each fell 3-2 in strong showings.
Emirhan Sen and
Alexander Scott played in the three and five spots, and each won their third game, but fell 3-1. Â
The Scarlet and Brown will be back on court next Friday when they head to Carlisle, Pa. to take on Dickinson at noon.
