The St. Lawrence University men's track and field team returned to action delivered multiple top-two finishes at the Middlebury Snowflake Invitational, highlighted by
Nick Lyndaker's victory in the 1000-meter run on the campus of Middlebury College.
Lyndaker won the event with a personal-best time of 2:28.68, a mark that currently ranks first in Division III this season.
Cyrus Goetze followed closely behind, placing second in the same event with a time of 2:37.38.
That wasn't the only personal best the Saints saw in the meet.
Erik Marelli claimed first place in the 60-meter hurdles, posting a personal-best time of 8.54.
In the distance races,
Patrick Russell earned a runner-up finish in the mile run with a personal-best time of 4:28.70.
Aidan Fay also competed in the mile run, adding a fifth-place showing in 4:46.34.
Riley Cushman recorded a second-place finish in the 500-meter run with a time of 1:09.46 and later teamed with Lyndaker, Colin Ruddy, and Kris Mellor to place second in the 4x400-meter relay in 3:37.04.
Bodie Molnar finished fourth in the 400-meter run at 51.35, and
Caleb Young placed fourth in the 200-meter run with a time of 23.06.
St. Lawrence then returns to the Empire State for their next two meets, when they compete in the Utica Winter Opener on Friday, January 16 before returning home for the St. Lawrence Invitational beginning Friday, January 23.
