St. Lawrence Earns 14th Straight AVCA Team Academic Award

The St. Lawrence University volleyball team has earned the 2025 AVCA Team Academic Award, sponsored by INTENT, marking its 14th consecutive year receiving the honor.

The Saints posted a team GPA of 3.564 for the 2024–25 academic year.

Eleven of the team's 15 student-athletes earned Dean's List recognition in at least one semester, and 13 recorded a semester GPA of 3.500 or higher.

"I am proud of our team for their continued diligence and commitment to their academics," said head coach Shelly Roiger. "Not only do they work hard in the gym and weight room, but they are equally committed to the classroom. They are leaders on our campus and with a record number of players studying abroad last spring (seven), they have utilized the student-athlete balance that St. Lawrence University provides: a place where you can 'do it all and have it all' under an umbrella of wellness."

The AVCA Team Academic Award recognizes volleyball programs that maintain a year-long GPA of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale. A record 1,450 collegiate and high school teams earned the award this year.

"It is very exciting to see that the record-setting, on-court successes during the 2024–25 season have extended to the classroom," said AVCA CEO Jaime Gordon. "The fact that more programs earned the Team Academic Award than ever before is evidence of how committed our coaches are when it comes to helping their players reach their goals as both students and athletes."
