Season Recap: Saints Softball Returns to LL Playoffs for Second Consecutive Season

The St. Lawrence University softball team matched their 2024 performance in the 2025 season, finishing fifth in the Liberty League standings and earning a spot in the conference tournament for the second straight year.

The Saints posted a 21-16 overall record and went 5-9 in regular-season league play, securing a berth in the Liberty League play-in game. There, they faced a tough Rensselaer squad that went on to earn an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament after a strong run in the conference playoffs.

Despite a similar outcome to last season, the Saints made significant offensive strides. The team set new single-season program records in hits (317), doubles (56), runs scored (213), total bases (415), and stolen bases (63). Defensively, they were equally sharp, setting a program record with a .959 fielding percentage.

Individual performances also stood out. Allison Kloft broke the program record for RBIs in a season with 36, and the rising junior will have two more years to build on that mark. Vivian Johnson tied the program record for walks in a season with 17.

Both Kloft and Johnson earned spots on the NFCA All-Region Third Team. Kloft was also named to the All-Liberty League First Team, while Johnson made the Second Team and received the SAAC Sportsmanship Award at the team's senior banquet. Maeve Thompson joined them in earning league honors with an All-Liberty League Honorable Mention.

The Saints bid farewell to four seniors from the 2025 roster: Sofia Berryhill, Sofia Camillieri, Vivian Johnson, and Stella VanGee.
