Goaltender
Michael Marinello earned USILA First-Team All-America honors and was selected as the Ensign C. Markland Kelly Jr. Outstanding Goalie of the Year, while
Charlie Miele earned Third-Team accolades and
Daniel Mahoney,
Bobby Wells,
Caleb Torres and
Padraic Condon were named Honorable Mentions for the St. Lawrence University men's lacrosse team, as announced Thursday afternoon.
Marinello becomes the third Saint in program history to win a major USILA award, the first since P.J. Santora won Specialty Player of the Year in 2009, and just the second goaltender to earn both First Team and Goaltender of the Year honors since John Fowler in 1980.
"Mike earned some particularly special recognition as the National Goalie of the Year," said head coach
Mike Mahoney. "We certainly relied on his always steady, and often spectacular, performances this season, especially in the second half of our season. To have the goalie of the year representing our program is certainly very special and so well deserved!"
Marinello backstopped the Saints in 2025 and recorded 245 saves for an 8.85 goals against average and a .600 save percentage. He ranked third on the team with 42 ground balls and caused eight turnovers. Marinello's save percentage topped the Liberty League, while his goals against average ranked fifth and his 12.89 saves per game ranks second.Â
Miele led the Saints defense with 25 caused turnovers and ranked second on the squad with 44 ground balls. He ranked seventh in the conference with 1.32 caused turnovers per game. Miele and the Saints' defense helped hold opponents to single digits, scoring just 8.78 goals per game.Â
Mahoney led the Saints' offense with 38 goals and 19 assists for 57 points on the season. He scored two game winners, two man-up goals, picked up 42 ground balls and caused three turnovers. Mahoney tallied three or more points in 13 of 19 games this season.
Wells, a force from the midfield, scored 30 goals and added 13 assists for 43 points on the season. He scored four game winners, six man-up goals, picked up 22 ground balls and caused two turnovers. In the final months of the season, Wells recorded a hat trick against Clarkson, RPI, RIT, and Middlebury in the second-round of the NCAA Tournament.
A short-stick midfielder, Torres picked up 29 ground balls, caused 11 turnovers, scored five goals and added an assist for six points.
Condon, a seasoned veteran at the faceoff dot, won 233 faceoffs for a 57.8 faceoff percentage in 2025. He picked up 147 ground balls, scored four goals, added three assists and caused one turnover.
"It is great to see these players recognized for their outstanding seasons," Mahoney added. "I think they would all say that these honors are a reflection of the turn-around that they helped to lead, along with their teammates this spring. At different times, each and every one of them had performances that were game changing and impacted greatly the trajectory of our season."
Marinello, Miele, Torres and Wells also earned USA Lacrosse All-America nods, while all six Saints also earned All-Liberty League accolades.
The Saints finished the season 12-7 overall and ranked 12th nationally. St. Lawrence earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament and defeated Middlebury in the second round, before giving No. 1 Tufts a hard-fought battle in the third round.
