The St. Lawrence University women's track and field team concluded the RPI Under the Lights Invitational with a fourth-place finish, backed by several top-five performances.
Charlotte Blake led the way for the women's team, claiming second in the 1500-meter run with a time of 5:00.23. Ashley Wieland also took part in the event, winning her heat and taking a scoring position in the event with a time of 5:22.64 and an eighth-place finish.
Amelia Berthold came up with an impressive performance in the heptathlon, recording a new personal best point total at 3738 -- good enough for six team points and third overall. Sbe only placed behind two UAlbany athletes who compete at the Division I level. Berthold placed as high as second in the hep events, with her second-place finishes coming in the shot put, high jump, and 800-meter run.
In the sprints, Caelan McHarney finished fourth in the 400-meter dash, crossing the line in 1:02.37. Samantha Legate also added a sixth-place finish in the 100-meter dash, clocking 13.39 seconds.
In the 400-meter hurdles, Haley Piester placed fourth (1:13.78), with Elena Trempe just behind in fifth (1:15.52). Piester's mark will send her to Liberty Leagues.
The triple jump was another highlight for the team, with Emma Brosell earning third place with a mark of 9.68 meters. Isla Bougard Duncan followed in fourth at 9.51 meters, and Caroline Hines placed sixth to give the Saints a significant point boost via the results from the event -- they racked up 14 points in the triple jump alone.
