Sadie Cumming and Caroline Mower were one stroke apart to lead the St. Lawrence University women's golf team after round one of the Hamilton Invitational on Saturday afternoon at the par-72 Rome Country Club.

Cumming shot an 81 to tie for 17th with three other golfers and birdies on holes eight, 12 and 13. Mower shot just one stroke more, finishing round one with an 82 to tie for 20th.

Nilla Ecklof sits in 35th with a 93, while Nora Walsh tied for 42nd with a 98.

Hamilton's 'A' squad leads the team scoring after round one with a 310. St. Lawrence sits in eighth place with a 354.
