The St. Lawrence men's soccer team outshot RIT 16-12 but dropped its Saturday afternoon conference matchup 3-0 at Sandy MacAllaster Field.
Nicholas Petrone had four shots on goal, followed by Grant Gilmer with two. With the loss, the Scarlet and Brown fall to 3-4 in conference play with two league games remaining.
The Saints created early chances to take the lead, including a shot from Kyle Reddish that found the woodwork in the 20th minute, but RIT went ahead six minutes later when Selorm Dake finished off a pass from Adam Eastman.
St. Lawrence continued to press in the second half, but RIT goalkeeper Kristian Dobbek made nine saves to preserve the shutout. The Tigers added two more goals late, with Dake scoring again in the 77th minute and Gavin Culley closing out the scoring in the 83rd.
Goalkeeper Zach Amato finished with five saves for the Saints. St. Lawrence has a week off before traveling to Rensselaer on Saturday, October 25, at 3:30 p.m.
