Box Score The St. Lawrence University women's tennis team cleaned up to the tune of four draw championships to close out the final day of the Union Invitational in Schenectady, N.Y.
In the B draw,
Yvette Karera finished off the run she started in day one, defeating Skylar Semon 2-6, 6-1, (10-4) in the final securing the bracket.
Karera was not done winning as in the A doubles draw, she and her sister
Ariane Karera advanced to the final with an 8-4 win over Union's Arizpe Sierra and Meidani. The sisters would take on
Molly Jespersen and
Eleanor McDermed in the final after they also claimed an 8-4 win. The Karera's won the all-St. Lawrence matchup to give Yvette her second draw win.
Back in the D singles draw,
Sarah Oldland advanced to the final after an 8-2 win over Paige Tromblee. The sophomore won the final handily 8-1 to take the bracket.
The wins kept coming for the Scarlet and Brown as
Ellie Fritz and
Elisa Iuri advanced to the B doubles final to take on New Paltz's Ninha Genzone and Olivia Grabowski. The Saints tandem took the win 8-4 giving St. Lawrence their fourth draw victory of the weekend.
In the A singles draw,
Ariane Karera fell in the flight final to Chara Meidani which gave her a second-place finish. Jespersen was able to claim third place in the draw with an 8-4 win over Arizpe Sierra.
The Saints will take their victorious trek home to the North Country where they will host the St. Lawrence University Invitational starting next Saturday.
