The Scarlet and Brown were dominant up and down the lineup as the St. Lawrence University women's tennis team swept SUNY Cortland on Sunday morning in the Newell Field House.
St. Lawrence improved to 8-6 with the win, while the Red Dragons fell to 7-4.
In doubles,
Angelica Aksdal-Jansen and
Molly Jespersen provided an 8-0 sweep in the number one spot, while
Meredith Macey and
Maya Stepic won 8-2 in the second spot. At three,
Abigail Sicuranza and
Alexandra Fuller took away an 8-1 victory.
In singles, the Karera's occupied the top spots with
Ariane Karera defeating Abby Madigan 6-4, 6-0, while
Yvette Karera beat Karlie Cubino 6-0, 6-1.
Seniors
Elena Styliades and Macey played in the three and four spots respectively and put up identical 6-2, 6-0 wins.
Ellie Fritz and
Sarah Oldland rounded out the lineup earning a pair of 6-0, 6-1 wins in the fifth and sixth spots.
The team will be back in action on the road next weekend when the team takes on Union and Rochester on April 12-13.
