The Saints top-four swept their matches in doubles and singles to lead the St. Lawrence University women's tennis team to a 6-3 win over William Smith on Saturday afternoon.
The Scarlet and Brown saw their season record improve to 12-7 with the win, and 5-3 in Liberty League play, while the Herons fell to 7-13, and 1-7 in league play.
The Saints took a 2-1 lead through doubles taking wins at the number one and two spot. At one,
Angelica Aksdal-Jansen and
Molly Jespersen fought to an 8-7 (7-2) win over Haley Levine and Natalie Haythorn while Karera's Ariane and Yvette took on Isabelle Goings-Perrot and Julia Pida winning 8-4.
In singles, Aksdal-Jansen and Jespersen took their second wins of the day at one and two with Aksdal-Jansen beating Levine 6-1, 6-1, and Jespersen winning 6-1, 6-2 over Goings-Perrot.
At three and four, the Karera's followed suit claiming wins.
Ariane Karera played the closer of the two matches winning 6-3, 7-6 (6-4) over Haythorn.
At six, senior
Meredith Macey picked up a senior day win defeating Julia Pida 6-2, 6-1.
After the match, the team honored the members of the Class of 2024 in Macey and
Elena Styliades.
The team will now focus on the Liberty League playoffs at Cornell University next weekend.
