The St. Lawrence University women's tennis team stayed perfect on the weekend sweeping SUNY Oneonta 9-0 on Saturday afternoon in the Newell Field House.
The Saints moved to 2-0 on the year, while the Red Dragons fell to 9-7.
The Scarlet and Brown were perfect in the doubles portion of the match to get off to a 3-0 start. The tandem of
Angelica Aksdal-Jansen and
Molly Jespersen won at number one, while the sisters
Ariane Karera and
Yvette Karera took their victory in the two spot. At three were
Maya Stepic and
Abigail Sicuranza, who took their win over Illiana Ger and Kelly Hayes.
In singles, the duo of Akdal-Jansen and Jespersen both earned convincing wins at number one and two respectively to go to 2-0 on the day and 4-0 on the week.
The Karera sisters played in the three and four spots with Ariane winning 6-0, 6-3 over Haley Peck at three, and Yvette taking a 6-2, 6-0 win at four against Danielle Copp.
Stepic also picked up her second win of the day with a 6-0, 6-3 win in the five spot, while
Meredith Macey took on Kelly Hayes at six winning 6-1, 6-0.
The Scarlet and Brown will be back in the Newell Field House next Saturday and Sunday when the team opens Liberty League play against Ithaca and Skidmore.
