Ariane and
Yvette Karera went unbeaten on the day to lead the St. Lawrence University women's tennis team to a 7-2 win over Ithaca on Saturday afternoon in the Newell Field House.
St. Lawrence improved to 3-0 on the year with the win, and 1-0 in league play.
In doubles, the Karera sisters played in the number two spot against Sabrina Cheung and Kendall Curley and took the 8-3 win. In the number three spot,
Elena Styliades and
Abigail Sicuranza took on Ava Casell-Lepetina and Maddie Sutro and won 8-5.
In singles play, Ariane took on Curley at number three, winning 6-4, 6-4, while at number four Yvette faced Lauren Rodriguez and cruised to a 6-2, 6-0 win.
At one,
Angelica Aksdal-Jansen avenged a doubles loss with a 6-4, 6-1, 6-4 win over Taylor Crain.
Molly Jespersen also earned a win after an opening-round loss defeating Alys Pop 3-6, 6-0, 6-0 in the second spot.
At number six,
Meredith Macey rounded off the day with a dominant 6-1, 6-2 win over Maddie Sutro.
The Saints will be back in action tomorrow at 2 p.m. when the team welcomes Skidmore to the Newell Field House.
