Aksdal-Jansen Leads Women's Tennis on Day Two of the ITA's

Box Score Angelica Aksdal-Jansen advanced to the Quarterfinals of the singles bracket to lead the St. Lawrence University women's tennis team on day two of the ITA Northeast Regionals on the campus of William Smith.

"Congratulations to the women, who represented St. Lawrence University strongly at the ITA's this weekend," said head coach Tavis Rieger "We battled through some tough tests to advance against strong players. It was a very promising close to the fall season, in preparation for the Spring."

In the singles bracket, Aksdal-Jansen continued her run in the Round of 16 where she played RPI's Lorna Flores. The sophomore would win the first set 6-4 before narrowly dropping the second set 6-7(4). Aksdal-Jansen would rally to win 10-7 and advance to the quarterfinals. In the next round she would take on Vassar's Erin McCusker, who took the win to advance.

In doubles, The Karera sisters, who advanced to the Quarterfinals with wins in the first round against NYU's Heber and Narayan, and the Round of 16 against William Smith's Levine and Haythorne, took on RPI's Flores and Ridenour on day two of the Regionals. The number one seeded Engineers' duo proved to be too much ending the Karera's run.

With the Fall season in the rearview, the St. Lawrence University women's tennis team will await the Spring portion of their season in 2024.
