Olivia Watson finished second in the 10,000-meters at the regional meet with a 41-second personal best to lead the St. Lawrence University women's track and field team on the first day of the two-day meet hosted by Susquehanna University.
Watson, who had never run under 38-minutes until the Liberty League Championship Meet two weeks ago, again lowered her career best and finished in 36:58.05. She crossed the first lap in third place, which she held until just under the two-mile mark, when she moved into second. She remained in the top-two for the remainder of the race and finished 20-seconds ahead of the third place finisher.
Katherine Sheehy ran a season best time in the 5,000 meters and finished on the podium. The senior moved into eighth place with half a mile to go and crossed the line in 18:19.88.
The Saints finish the two-day meet on Thursday, May 18
th with events beginning at 10 a.m.
