Meredith Rose had two hits and a run, and
Tori Rotundo scored twice, but the St. Lawrence University softball team lost to Trinity 5-4 and Middlebury 7-0 in Clermont, Florida on Thursday.

Middlebury 7, St. Lawrence 0
Middlebury used two big innings in the first game to take the lead. After three hitless innings,
Sofia Berryhill was relieved, and the Panthers scored four in the fourth.
Margo Hopper singled up the middle to start the bottom of the fourth. She stole second and was moved over to third on a
Vivian Johnson groundout, but she would not advance any further.
Middlebury would score three move in the seventh, and despite
Olivia Caporale and
Sofia Camillieri reaching on singles to left, the game would end 7-0.
St. Lawrence 5, Trinity 4
In the second game of the day, the Saints scored early.
Stella VanGee was hit by a pinch, and Rotundo made it two-on when she slapped the ball to third and the third basemen could not make the play. Rose loaded the bases with a single up the middle, and
Cora Ferguson grounded out to short, which brought VanGee home, and Johnson hit a sacrifice fly to score Rotundo.
The Bantams scored in the first and second inning to tie the game. Rose reached on a fielder's choice in the top of the third. Ferguson hit the ball to the pitcher, who overthrew first, and the right fielder backing up the play also made an error which brought Rose all the way around and the Saints re-took the lead. In the top of the fifth the Saints loaded the bases and Johnson earned a walk to make it 4-2.
Trinity scored in the bottom of the sixth to make it a one run game and hit a double to start the seventh. A wild pitch would score the tying run, and a hard hit ball up the middle won it for the Bantams.
The Saints fall to 0-10, while Middlebury improved to 6-3 and Trinity to 2-5 on the year. The Saints return to Legends Field on March 24
th to face Keuka at 9 a.m. followed by University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
