Broderick Pinto went 2-0 on the day and the Saints had a 2-1 lead after Doubles, but the St. Lawrence University men's tennis team would lose 5-4 to Luther College on Tuesday afternoon in Orlando, Florida.
St. Lawrence fell to 2-4 with the loss, while Luther improved to 5-6.
The Scarlet and Brown did well in the Doubles round taking a 2-1 lead. At number two,
Adam Heilbronner and Pinto took down Francisco Navarrete, and Ricky Portilla 8-3. Then at number three,
Edvin Strandberg and
John Hill-Edgar claimed an 8-3 win of their own against Abhay Chhabra and Felipe Biscaro.
The Saints didn't fare as well in Singles winning just two matches. At number four, Pinto was strong yet again defeating Chhabra 6-3, 6-2. At number five,
Cole Hamilton lined up against Marvin Kuehnelt and lost the opening set 6-4. Hamilton would comeback with 7-5, and 11-9 wins to take the win.
The Saints will be back on the court tomorrow at 6:00 p.m. to take on Hope College.
