The Saints took a 3-0 lead in the doubles and never looked back as the St. Lawrence University men's tennis team took a 7-2 win over Hope College on Wednesday night in Orlando, Florida.
St. Lawrence improved to 3-4 with the win, while Hope fell to 2-7.
At number one doubles,
Ben Moolman and
Nathan Turtledove had the shortest match as the duo took an 8-2 win over Jacob Burkett and Cameron Coates. At two,
Adam Heilbronner and
Broderick Pinto took on Tyler Stafford and Matt Henkel and took the 8-6 victory.
Edvin Strandberg and
John Hill-Edgar took on Justin Fay and John Voss and had to go to a tiebreaker to decide the winner. The Saints' duo ended up taking away the 8-7 (7-3) win.
In singles, Heilbronner, Strandberg, and Pinto each doubled up with their second wins of the day at numbers two through four. At number five,
Cole Hamilton took on Henkel and earned a 6-2, 6-0 win.
The Scarlet and Brown will wrap up their Spring Break trip tomorrow as they line up against Goucher College at 3:00 p.m.
