The Saints were able to win the best-of-three doubles with two victories, but the St. Lawrence University men's tennis team ultimately fell 6-1 to Saint Michael's College on Thursday afternoon in Colchester, Vt.
In doubles, the Saints went down 1-0 after a loss at number three. At number one,
Nathan Turtledove and
Ben Moolman tied up the doubles with a 7-6 (9-7) win over Josh Weiss and Seb Tonini.
At number three,
Adam Heilbronner and
Broderick Pinto lined up against Tristian Du Plessis and Jason Boucher with the doubles point on the line. The St. Lawrence tandem won 7-6 (9-7) to take the point.
Saint Michael's would go on to sweep all six singles matches to take the victory.
The Scarlet and Brown fell to 0-1 on the season with the loss, while Saint Michael's improved to 1-5.
The Scarlet and Brown will head home and prepare for their first home match of their spring season against Daemen University on Saturday. The two teams will lineup in the Newell Field House at 2:00 p.m.
