Four Saints went 2-0 on the day to help power the St. Lawrence University men's tennis team to a 7-2 win over Daemen University on Saturday in the Newell Field House.
The Saints moved to 1-1 on the season, while Daemen fell to 1-5.
The day started with doubles, where the duo of
Nathan Turtledove and
Ben Moolman took an 8-2 win in the number one spot for the Scarlet and Brown. At number two,
Adam Heilbronner and
Broderick Pinto battled to an 8-5 win over Zachary LaPlante and Phillip Vance.
The Saints earned the doubles sweep as at number three,
John Hill-Edgar and Edvin Stranberg secured an 8-2 win.
In singles, Pinto was the first Saint to secure a 2-0 day with a 6-0, 7-5 win over Rohan Chitanand at number four. Atnumber one, Turtledove secured the team win defeating Alex Lumanog 6-2, 6-3.
At number two, Heilbronner went to three sets winning 2-1 with 6-2, 6-0 wins after going down 6-2 in the opening set. At number six, Moolman cruised to his second win of the day winning 6-1, 6-0 over Jayven Williamson.
The Scarlet and Brown will return to the Newell Field House next Saturday where they will host SUNY Oneonta at 3:00 p.m.
