St. Lawrence University senior
Olivia Middleton was named to the First-Team All-Liberty League team, while first-year
Jackie Malley was named Rookie of the Year, as announced by the league office on Tuesday morning.
Middleton finished the season second in the league in assists per game (3.8). She also had the second-best assist-to-turnover ratio (1.4). She also was an efficient scorer all season, averaging 12.8 points per game, fifth in the league, on 43.6-percent shooting, and 77-percent from the free throw line. She finished eighth in the league in steals per game (1.55).
"Olivia has been a tremendous player for us ever since she arrived on campus," said head coach
Dan Roiger. "This year she took her game to a new level and truly became one of the best players in the league and is highly deserving of this honor. For a significant stretch of our league season she elevated her game and really carried us when we won eight of 10 games, and our season probably would have turned out much differently had she not missed our last five games. Olivia is a complete player. She was able to score from the perimeter, but could also drive and finish, she was one of the top passers in our league, and she worked hard on the defensive end and could lock opponents down. She earned this award, and our program is really proud of and excited for her."

Malley had an immediate impact in the league. She averaged the highest points per game (10.8) among rookies, which was seventh among all players. She also averaged 4.6 rebounds per game as a guard and led the lead in 3-pointers per game (2.7) on 34.8-percent shooting. Her shooting percentage increased to above 38-percent against league opponents.
"Jackie had a great impact on our team in her first season, and I'm really excited she has been recognized by our opponents," said Roiger. "She is a tremendous shooter and if teams made any mistakes on her it wasn't long before she made them pay the price. It was interesting watching teams guard her with their best defender and change their defensive game plan to accommodate her. She also became one of our best rebounders and plays very tough on the floor, playing hard and physical and not letting adversity get to her. I'm really excited to have her for the next three years, she is the type of player than will take what she has learned and get to work making herself better each and every year. I know her teammates and coaches are very excited for her to earn this Liberty League honor."
