Box Score 2 After two games and six sets of volleyball in Fredericksburg, Va., the St. Lawrence University volleyball team will; have to wait for their next contest to try snapping their eight-game skid.
They played two contests in the Old Dominion Saturday, dropping both games, first to No. 22 nationally ranked Mary Washington 3-0, followed by a second loss to Virginia Wesleyan, also by a final score of 3-0.
"We faced three excellent opponents in Virginia, easily the three toughest matches we'll see all season long," said
Shelly Roiger, the Saints' head coach. "While I certainly never want to be okay with defeat, I am proud of the team for the focus, energy, and fearlessness that they showed all week long. Our passing game improved greatly during the weekend. We now need to execute better and more consistently."
The team now returns home to familiar territory, where they'll play in the North Country Challenge beginning on the road at Clarkson on Friday, Oct. 20 at 4 pm. This will be followed by back to back home games, beginning with Friday evening against SUNY Brockport before wrapping up Saturday afternoon against Skidmore.
