After a back-and-forth battle to start,
Isabel Silvia scored five goals, while
Rachel Burke and
Charlotte Powell each scored three to lead the St. Lawrence University women's lacrosse team to a 15-12 win over No. 10 Brockport on Friday afternoon in Rochester, N.Y.
Silvia also added an assist and picked up three ground balls and caused three turnovers.
Callie O'Neil scored two goals and assisted on three others, while
Morgan Arakelian scored once and added two assists and
Laura Wells scored once. Jamie Allen picked up two assists, four ground balls and caused two turnovers.
Brockport's Courtney Cunningham was the first to the scoreboard, giving the Golden Eagles their first goal just 29 seconds into the game.
St. Lawrence's O'Neil and Powell would net back-to-back goals to give the Saints a 2-1 lead. But in a back-and-forth battle for control, the Golden Eagles scored the next two to take a 3-2 lead after the first quarter.
Silvia scored the first goal of the second to knot the game at 3-3 and scored her second of the game to tie the game back up at 4-4, and Powell put the Saints back up 5-4.
After Powell's second goal of the game, the Golden Eagle's scored twice to take a 6-5 lead at halftime.
Off the opening draw in the third quarter, Burke tallied her 11th goal of the season off the pass from O'Neil to tie the game 6-6. The Saints then recorded a six-goal run to build an 11-6 lead over Brockport.
Claire Odett scored for Brockport to stop the run, but Wells tallied the next goal for the Saints and the Scarlet and Brown went on to outscore Brockport 10-6 in the second half  and held off a 6-1 run by the Golden Eagles down the stretch to seal the win.
Allison Jennings, Odett and Logan Hibbard each scored two goals for Brockport.
Raelynn Bovenzi made nine saves between the pipes for the Saints, while Morgan Elmer made 21 saves for Brockport.
St. Lawrence outshot Brockport 42-29 and picked up 21 ground balls to the Golden Eagles' 19. The Saints also converted on 18-of-22 clears and won 18-of-31 draw controls.
With the win, the Saints remain undefeated at 5-0, while Brockport fell to 2-2.
The Saints will stay in Rochester and will open Liberty League play, as they take on the University of Rochester Yellowjackets tomorrow at 3:00 p.m.
