The Saints went 3-1 in the top-four, but the No. 15 St. Lawrence University men's squash team fell 6-3 to No. 17 Williams College on Friday night at Cornell University.
"The guys had their chances today, but we need to learn to capitalize on the big points if we want to win the big matches," said head coach
Scott Denne "We have the rest of the weekend to try and work it out for nationals next week and I'm confident we can do that."
In the Scarlet and Brown's lone sweep of the day,
Lewis Anderson continued his dominant play sweeping Williams' Udai Pal 11-7, 11-7, 11-3 in the number one spot. With the win, Anderson moved to 16-0 on the season and he has still not lost a set.
In the number three spot,
Alejandro Moncada lost the opening point to Cameron Darnell 12-10. Moncada settled in winning the next three handily 11-2, 11-4, 11-4 to take the win. At number four,
Sebastian De La Vega won his first two sets 11-7, 11-8 over Wyatt Khosrowshahi before losing the third set 11-8. De La Vega cleaned up the match with an 11-9 win in the fourth set to take the point.
The Saints had two other matches go to four sets, but they could not get the two more wins they needed.
