Dadoly, Caplan Lead Saints at Mary Hosking

Gabriella Dadoly and Rachel Caplan won the "B" flight doubles over teammates Emily Harris and Meredith Macey, and the Saints had a trio of consolation wins to highlight the St. Lawrence University women's tennis team on the final day of the Mary Hosking Invitational on Sunday afternoon on the campus of William Smith College in Geneva, New York.

The Saints will head back to Geneva for the ITA Northeast Regionals on September 18th for the three-day tournament.

"It was great being back playing our first tournament in two years." said head coach Neil Caniga "I am very proud of how well we competed and in the progress we made over the weekend. I am looking forward to getting back out on the court for ITA's in a couple weeks."

The duo of Dadoly and Caplan advanced to the finals after taking down Lorelei Glidden and Ally Turtledove of Hamilton in the "B" flight semifinals. They were met by teammates Harris and Macey, who won their semifinal matchup over Shannon Cicero and Kat Roberts of Hamilton. Dadoly and Caplan won the all-Saints battle 8-6 to cap off the "B" flight doubles.

Harris was one match away from reaching the "D" flight final after winning her quarterfinal matchup yesterday. Harris ended up falling in the semifinal round to Grace Fuss of Hamilton, who ended up winning the flight.

Caplan, Caitlyn Avery, and Dadoly all walked away from the Mary Hosking Invitational with wins in the consolation flights. Caplan defeated Julianna Schulz of Geneseo in the "B" flight consolation, while Avery and Dadoly took the "C" and "D" flight consolations, respectively.

Avery and Catherine Gamble fought their way to the "A" flight doubles final, but fell 8-6 to Gabby Donohue and Jackie Drozd of RIT.
