Mary Hosking Invitational Day One Recap

The St. Lawrence women's tennis team combined for 13 wins between singles and doubles on Saturday and will make three semifinal appearances tomorrow as the Saints open the 2021-22 season at the Mary Hosking Invitational hosted by William Smith in Geneva, New York on Sunday.

In Flight B Doubles, Emily Harris paired up with Meredith Macey and advanced to the quarterfinal after a 8-3 first-round win. The duo took down Dron and Mandalapu of Rochester to advance to the semifinals. Gabriella Dadoly and Rachel Caplan advance to the quarterfinals in Flight B after an 8-3 first-round win. The pair defeated Morrow and Morgans of William Smith to advance to the semifinals.

In Flight D Singles, Harris took down Louisa Morrow 8-1 in her first-round matchup before advancing past the quarterfinal with an 8-1 win over Angel-Lee Randone of Rochester. Harris will take on Grace Fuss of Hamilton in the semifinals tomorrow.

Lillian Sullivan advanced in Flight A with an 8-0 win over Claire Pullen of Nazareth but fell in the quarterfinal to Camilia Ruiz Vega 8-6 in the quarterfinal.

Macey advanced in the Flight B past Sydney Macey of the host Herons 8-3, but fell 8-5 to Ithaca's Zoe Davis. In Flight C, Elena Styliades beat Jaclyn Dron 8-5, but fell to William Smith's Julia Pida, 8-5, in the quarterfinals.

In Flight A Doubles, Styliades paired up with Sullivan for an 8-0 win over Guzman and Pullen of Nazareth. The tandem advanced to the quarterfinals to take on Apsey and Holzman of Hamilton, but fell 8-1.
