The 21st-ranked St. Lawrence University women's squash team was perfect as they swept all eight matches 3-0 en route in a win over Colgate University in Hamilton, N.Y. on Friday afternoon. The final match total came out to 8-1 as a result of the Saints not having a ninth player in the lineup.
"Despite being depleted with some missing players, our women swept all the matches which was awesome to see," said head coach
Scott Denne "It was good to get them dialed in before the two most important matches for them tomorrow against Hamilton and Wesleyan. Despite being short a player, we think we still have a good chance to win tomorrow if everyone is firing the way we expect."
The eight-woman Saints' lineup consisted of
Anannya Morey,
Sanna Koivumäki,
Makyla Kelley,
Petra DeRose,
Meg Pruett,
Kat Leiva,
Promise Dorsey-Butler, and
Tita Hicks. All eight of the Saints won their matches 3-0 to pitch a perfect match against the Raiders.
St. Lawrence will be right back in action tomorrow as the Saints travel to Hamilton College for two matches. At 12:00 noon the Saints will take on host Hamilton College, then at 2:00 p.m. will take on Wesleyan University at Hamilton College to complete the weekend, and the 2021 portion of their schedule.
