Nara Elia scored the first for the Saints and
Rachel Teslak scored on the power play, but the St. Lawrence University women's hockey team fell to Mercyhurst 3-2 in non-conference action on Friday night in Erie, Pennsylvania.
After a scoreless first period, Abby Huster tallied her seventh assist of the season when she found Elia, who put the Saints on the board first at the 8:26 mark of the second.
Mercyhurst's Jordan Mortlock knotted the game 1-1 with about five and a half minutes remaining in the second frame.
After two periods of play, the Saints held a slight 19-18 edge in shots.
The Lakers struck again, as K.K. Thiessen and Sydney Pedersen assisted Sara Boucher for the 2-1 lead at 10:42 of the third period.

Lucy Morgan for the extra attacker, but Mercyhurst's third goal game from Kristy Pidgeon on a short-handed empty netter at 19:10.5.
Pedersen was called for a game misconduct and Teslak tallied her third goal of the season on the power play bringing the Scarlet and Brown within one with just 5.8 seconds to play.

Shailynn Snow tallied assists on the play.
"We had another night of great chances that didn't go," said Wells. "Lucy played well early, so we could find our pace and we were able to score the first goal of the game."
Morgan finished with 29 saves for the Saints, while Mercyhurst's Jenna Silvonen made 31.
St. Lawrence finished with a 33-32 edge in shots and went 1-for-3 on the power play, while Mercyhurst went 0-for-3.
"This team has been in every game this year," Wells added. "We will be ready to go tomorrow. Our energy on the bench was as good as I've seen all year. They enjoy playing with and for each other!"
St. Lawrence fell to 5-5-2 on the season, while the Lakers improved to 9-4-1.
The Saints will return to Mercyhurst Ice Arena for a rematch, tomorrow, November 13. Puck drop is scheduled for 2:05 p.m.
