The St. Lawrence University League of Legends team fell to Ithaca College 2-0 in the first match for both teams in the 2021 College League of Legends tournament.
 
The Bombers were able to build early leads in both games, culminating in a quick attack on the Saints' Nexus to claim the victory.
 
In the first game, Ithaca's eliron, playing as Sylas, had eight kills, with the Bombers posting a 16-5 advantage in kills. Ithaca also held a 4-0 advantage in dragon kills, winning the game in short order after claiming the Ocean Soul when the fourth dragon was defeated.
 
Connor Lambert and Cole Weigartz both had three kills to lead St. Lawrence in the first game.
 
St. Lawrence had a bit more success in the second game of the match, but Ithaca once again proved to be too much, posting an 18-11 advantage in kills. The Bombers had a balanced attack, with eliron and CF Card both posting five kills, while Lambert had five for the Saints.
 
After Ithaca killed the first three dragons in the match, the Saints looked as though they had a path back into the match as they were attacking the fourth dragon, but Ithaca's IC Sandbag, playing as Nunu & Willump, was able to steal the kill, giving the Bombers a nearly insurmountable advantage.
 
The Saints, now 0-1 on the season, will face Caldwell University next Saturday at 3 p.m.
