Taylor Armijo was 4-for-6 with two RBI and three stolen bases, and
Sofia Adams hit her first career home run to lead the St. Lawrence University softball team to 5-4 and 9-2 wins over D'Youville and Geneva on Monday at Hancock Field 1 in Clermont, Florida.
Armijo has hit safely in all six of the Saints' games this spring and her seven stolen bases are three shy of her career high.
The sweep runs the Saints' winning streak to four straight games, and the team goes into the off day with a 5-1 record.
St. Lawrence 5, D'Youville 4
Armijo was 3-for-3 in the opener with two stolen bases, including a steal home on a double steal in the third inning to tie the score after D'Youville took an early lead on a an RBI double by Brittaney Goodrich in the first inning.
Skylar Hein drove in another run with a single to center in the frame to give the Saints the lead for good.
McKailey Lyndaker added an RBI groundout in the fourth inning, and
Angelina Carney drove in two more runs with a single to center in the fifth to give the Saints a 5-1 lead.
The Spartans came back with two runs in the bottom of the frame on RBI singles by Jordan Hartman and Mikaela Milleville, then cut the lead to one with a sacrifice fly in the sixth inning.
Elle Gray was 2-for-4 for the Saints; D'Youville was led by Milleville, who was 3-for-4, while Goodrich was 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Caroline Young earned the win in relief, pitching the final 4.2 innings, allowing three runs (one earned) on seven hits with one strikeout and one walk.
Gabby Slater allowed one run on three hits with a walk and a strikeout in 2.1 innings in the start for the Saints.
Alexa Haberer took the loss in a complete game effort for the Spartans, allowed four earned runs off seven hits with five strikeouts and one walk.

St. Lawrence 9, Geneva 2
Adams was 2-for-2 in the second game of the day, and she started a six-run second inning with a two-run home run to left center field as the Saints cruised to a win in game two.
Four of the Saints' runs in the second inning came with two outs.
Emily Desjardins drove in a run with her first collegiate hit, a line drive double to left center, and Armijo followed with an RBI single to left to score Desjardins. Gray scored Armijo from first with a double that hit the gap in left center, and Carney plated Gray with an RBI single to left.
The teams traded runs in the third, with Adams scoring on a sacrifice fly, and Geneva another run in the fourth, but Slater limited the damage, getting the next two batters after Nicole West's RBI single to end the inning.
With the bases loaded in the fifth inning and the Saints leading 8-2, Slater hit an RBI single to right, scoring pinch runner
Elizabeth Norton from third, but Adams was thrown out at the plate, and the umpire ejected her from the game after a collision with the catcher. The Saints scored another run on a bases loaded walk by Armijo, but couldn't push a 10th run across to invoke the eight-run rule.
Slater, however, was nearly perfect over the final two innings, allowing just one walk, to shut the door on the Golden Tornadoes. She earned the win in relief for the Saints, allowing one run on three hits and one walk with five strikeouts in 4.2 innings. Lyndaker allowed one run on four hits with three strikeouts and three walks in the first 2.1 inning.
Ten players recorded a hit for the Saints; Paige Hollinger led Geneva's offense, going 2-for-3.
Kyleigh Jo Ward took the loss, allowing seven runs on seven hits with one walk and one strikeout in three innings.
