Ongley was a member of the golf, indoor track and baseball teams at Shepaug Valley High School. He earned All-Berkshire League honors as a senior and were the Division II State Championship runner-ups his junior year. Ongley was also an honor roll student, the Math NHS secretary, and the Science NHS Vice President.
