Biography
2016-17: Hemsted helped row the varsity eight to a 31st-place finish at the Head of the Charles Regatta and the second varsity eight to a fourth-place finish at Hamilton… He also earned Liberty League All-Academic honors for the second season in a row.
2015-16: Hemsted rowed in the second varsity eight and took home third-place at the Mayor’s Cup during spring break in Tampa, Florida and at the Liberty League Championships… He also earned Liberty League All-Academic honors.
2014-15: Hemsted helped the JV eight row to a fourth-place finish at the Bridge-to-Bridge Regatta… He also helped the varsity four to a fifth-place finish at the New York State Championships… He also helped the varsity four to a fifth-place finish at the ECAC Championships.
Prior to St. LawrenceÂ
Hemsted was a four-sport athlete, captaining both the wrestling and cross country teams while also competing on the baseball and track and field teams. The Milton, Vt., native was a three-time all-state honoree for wrestling and owns the school's all-time wins record. Hemsted, who earned the school's "Rising Star Athletic Award," was inducted into the National Honor Society and was on the Honor Roll all four years.
