Game Notes

The St. Lawrence University women's soccer team enters today's Senior Day match against Union at 6-5-5 overall and 3-3-2 in Liberty League play following a key 1-0 victory over Ithaca on Tuesday.

In the midweek matchup on Sandy MacAllaster Field, Charlotte Manganello finished off an Ella McPhaul pass for the game's lone goal, while Reagan Murphy recorded the shutout to secure three crucial conference points.

The win marked the Saints' first victory over the Bombers since 2019, when St. Lawrence earned a 2-1 win on Sandy MacAllaster Field. Manganello's tally was also the Saints' first goal against Ithaca since that 2019 meeting.

The result vaulted the Scarlet and Brown into sixth place in the Liberty League standings with 11 points, one point ahead of Clarkson.

With a win today and a Skidmore victory over RIT, St. Lawrence could climb as high as fourth in the standings and earn the right to host a Liberty League playoff game next week.

The Saints have not yet secured a postseason berth and will be battling for one this afternoon. A victory over Union guarantees a playoff spot, while a tie or loss would require help elsewhere, particularly from No. 17 Vassar against Clarkson as the Scarlet and Brown look to hold off the Knights and Ithaca for the conference's sixth and final playoff position.

With a draw, the Saints would qualify for the postseason unless Clarkson defeats Vassar and Ithaca wins at Bard. St. Lawrence can still qualify with a loss, but would be eliminated if Clarkson defeats Vassar and Ithaca earns at least a point against Bard.

Zoe Rogan continues to lead the attack with 15 points on five goals and five assists, while Barrett Freeman has totaled 10 points on four goals and two assists. Manganello enters today's match with goals in each of the Saints' last two games and joins Kiki D'Anza, Madeline Johnson, Paige McLaughlin, and Maddie Needham with two goals this season.

Murphy improved to 3-5-2 with the win over Ithaca and recorded her third shutout of the season. The junior owns a .812 save percentage and a 1.30 goals-against average.

Senior Zoe Davenport is 3-0-3 with four shutouts this season, helping the Saints post seven clean sheets as a team. Davenport carries a .50 goals-against average and a .786 save percentage across six starts.
