2022 Saints Volleyball Camp


We are SO EXCITED to be offering a camp again!

The Saints are coming off a 17-11 season including an appearance in the
2021 Liberty League Championship.


Camp 1: Day Camp on Tuesday/Wednesday,
July 12-13; Grades 7-9
Camp 2: Overnight Camp on Thursday-Saturday,
July 14-16; Grade 10-College Freshman

GENERAL CAMP INFORMATION 

  • Grades are based on the 2022-2023 school year.
  • Sessions will be 9:00-5:00 for the day camp, and 9:00-4:30 for the overnight camp.
  • Areas of focus will include skill development, teamwork, leadership development, fitness, and developing strong and positive mental toughness.
  • Coaching staff includes St. Lawrence University head volleyball coach Shelly Roiger, assistant volleyball coach Emma Lorenzen, and current members of the Saints volleyball team.
  • All athletes will have access to the care of certified athletic trainers.
  • Each camper will receive an Under Armour t-shirt.
  • Space is limited to 45 campers per camp.
  • Cost: $170 for Camp 1, the day camp; $250 for Camp 2 if Commuting; $350 for Camp 2 if staying overnight in the dorms.

REGISTRATION & MEDICAL INFORMATION

  • To finalize your registration, please go to https://saintsathletics.com/documents/2022/4/1/2022_Summer_Camp_Registration.pdf, submit the form on the last page, and pay the $50 non-refundable deposit. The 2022 camp has reached capacity.
  • Campers must follow the medical form instructions, fill out the medications form listed, and submit the mandatory medical release form (all listed below). If you are a returning camper and have used our online forms in the past, you will just need to update the information for the medical forms and medications.  The medical release form must be submitted every year.

THE CAMP FACILITIES - BURKMAN GYMNASIUM

There are two volleyball courts in Burkman Gymnasium located in the Augsbury Physical Education Center. Strength and fitness areas include the Stafford Fitness Center, Newell Multipurpose Room and the Newell Strength Training Room. All athletes will have access to the SLU athletic training room with care overseen and provided by certified athletic trainers. Burkman Gymnasium has a new look to it with a remodeling of the floor being completed in July ’21!

SAINTS VOLLEYBALL

The Saints Volleyball program is one of the top Division III programs in New York. The Saints have made the Liberty League conference playoffs seven of the last eleven seasons and have been ranked as high as eighth in the NY Region. Their last three seasons have been three of their best under Coach Roiger with a 19-9 record in 2018, a 22-10 finish in 2019, and a 17-11 record in 2021 including a Liberty League Championship appearance. CAMP DIRECTOR: SHELLY ROIGER - SLU HEAD VOLLEYBALL COACH

Saints Head Volleyball Coach Shelly Roiger enters her 13th season at SLU this fall and the 17th in her career. She has led the Saints to the Liberty League playoffs in seven of her eleven seasons including a Liberty League Championship title in 2010 and a Liberty League Championship appearance in 2021. Her 200+ wins at SLU ranks her as the all-time winningest volleyball coach in program history. During her tenure at SLU, Coach Roiger has coached the only four All-Americans in the 40+ year history of the program (including the first two-time All American, Natalie Piper ’22), 32 All-Conference players, as well as 65 Liberty League All-Academic team members.Â
