Saints are Shipping Up to Boston; Earn At-Large Bid to NCAA Tournament

The St. Lawrence University men's lacrosse team earned an at-large bid to the 2026 NCAA Tournament and will face off against Hamilton in the second round of the tournament at Babson on Saturday, May 9 at 3 p.m.

The Saints, who made their last NCAA appearance in 2025, are currently ranked 16th in the nation in the latest USILA Coaches Poll, were the second seed in the Liberty League Tournament this past weekend and earned a spot in the NCAA Tournament for the sixth time since 2016 and the 16th time in program history.

"I'm so excited for the team that has worked very hard to earn this opportunity," said head coach Mike Mahoney. "We are looking forward to getting to Boston this weekend, and playing in front of our loyal New England area fan base, knowing that we have a huge challenge ahead of us!"

St. Lawrence finished the regular season 11-6 and 5-2 in conference play. The Saints defeated the RIT Tigers in the regular season and secured the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament, earning a first-round bye. SLU and the No. 3 seeded Tigers, met again in the semifinals, where the Tigers claimed an 11-9 win in Canton to advance to the championship game.

The last matchup between the Saints and the Continentals was in April of 2011, before Hamilton departed from the Liberty League. St. Lawrence holds a 19-8 all-time record over Hamilton.

Babson will take on the winner of Wednesday's first round contest between Massachusetts Maritime Academy and Husson University. The second round winners will meet in Sunday's third round game at 3 p.m.

More information regarding this weekend's games will be added to saintsathletics.com when made available.
